We are witnessing the erosion of our democratic values. Shaking down critics, extorting businesses, rewriting America’s history, threatening media and law firms, and the military occupation of our nation’s capital are signs that we have crossed a dangerous threshold. The US is now on the verge of authoritarianism.
However, there is hope. Authoritarianism has not yet fully taken root, and our collective decisions and actions will determine its future. Authoritarians thrive when citizens are silenced, when leaders are co-opted, and when fear and self-interest prevail over the common good.
I have made my decision. I am running to oust the incumbent, self-serving, authoritarian-loving Delegate in the 59th District, Buddy Fowler. Authoritarianism is like a contagious virus, but with the right treatment, it can be overcome.
I ask for your support. Will you choose to vote for me, even if you have never voted for a Democrat? Will you share this message with those who need to hear it? Will you donate to help spread this warning to others in Louisa, Hanover, and Henrico counties?
Together, we can protect our freedoms and re-gain a brighter future for all.
We're getting our sign blitz off the ground! Yard signs are in hand and road signs are on order!

Rather than rehash my resume, experience, and accomplishments, I want talk about the values we share. I believe in an America where people feel safe in their home, in their workplace, and our children ARE safe in their school. I believe in an America in which we are free to read the books we choose, express our views, and to worship (or not) according to our beliefs. I believe in an America where our lifestyle is our own business, where we are free to choose those we love and spend our lives with, and importantly, where we make our own decisions regarding our health, lives and bodies.
I believe in an America where hard work is rewarded with fair wages, where everyone pays their fair share of taxes, and where the doors of education and opportunity are open to all. I believe in an America that values and stewards the land, the air, and the resources of the earth for the benefit of the present and the future.
I value character, honesty, kindness, and generosity. I despise and push back against bullies, tyrants and Kings and I have no respect for those who cower in fear, who comply, and who are more concerned about themselves than those they represent.

Are we on the same team? Do you want to be represented by someone who shares your values? Or are you content being represented by a self-serving, cheating Republican MAGA puppet? If we are on the same team, I need you to put your own voice, time, money, and your own skin in the game to set a new tone in Richmond and give Abigail a governing majority in the House.

Did you know that in 2024, Virginia’s soybean crop generated nearly $65 million dollars for our farmers? That figure does not include revenue soybeans generated by supporting industries such as transportation, equipment and agricultural suppliers. This is payments to farmers for their crops alone.
The now defunct USAID, which historically bought and shipped agricultural products to send abroad as foreign aid, will no longer guarantee a market for soy and other crops. The consequences of “DOGEing” federal programs like USAID have not yet hit home, but will very likely hit Louisa and Hanover soy farmers hard this fall.
As a Delegate, I will fight to protect farmers from the adverse effects of USAID elimination and the resulting price destabilization and over supply.
Went to Vienna over the weekend for candidate training and got some great insights. One is that we have to leverage social media - so check out the video and then our Facebook page:
The 2026 midterm elections have already been compromised by Trump and the Republicans. Trump knows his Executive Order on elections is extra-constitutional but that does not keep it from having the intended consequences. State legislatures are already introducing legislation to implement Trump’s decrees.
The SAVE Act is unlikely to pass the Senate but that might be a technicality. States have introduced proof of citizenship for voting bills, many of which are likely to pass. No one wants non-citizens to vote but the fact is that non-citizens voting is very rare and never coordinated in an attempt to fix the results.
This poorly thought out and badly crafted legislation, at worst, may disenfranchise half of the current voting population whose birth name does not match their legal name – think married women whose current name does not match their birth certificate. Further, producing the documented proof of citizenship eliminates by-mail and on-line registration, which disenfranchises service members overseas, the elderly who cannot easily get to a physical polling place, and workers who can’t get time off on Election Day.
Best case, the federal bill fails to become law and merely creates different requirements between states that adopt their own proof of citizenship requirements and causes some legal voters to sit out elections out of fear or confusion.
MAGA has relentlessly exploited differences between state’s laws and practices to undermine election results when they lose and they have now set the stage to discredit the 2026 mid-terms. This tactic is the only way to prevent the historical inevitability of losing control of the house. The public and voters need to understand and resist this now.
After the 2026 elections it will be too late.
I attended the Monument Avenue Good Trouble Rally on Thursday in honor of John Lewis, one of the original 13 Freedom Riders and a hero in the struggle for civil rights. Lewis served 17 terms in Congress, and once said to make change you have to get into "good trouble, necessary trouble."
Please take a look at my video message from the rally, and let us know what you think.
